We started doing this a few months ago. It has helped a lot!
We do this. All coins go towards my son's savings account. When the coins reach the top of the jar we take it to the bank. Our bank has a coin counter machine and we take the receipt to the teller and ask to put that amount in our son's savings account. Now that he has a little savings it will grow ...

This is will be good for us to use on our winter bills. We have lower bills in the summer so this should help us with that. If we save a little bit each month for the winter month bills during the summer they won't seem so high!! Thanks!
