I have had to opt out of 4 of my 5 credit cards this way in order for our family to stay current and continue to pay at the lower interest rate. Credit card companies are on a roll now with raising interest rates off the charts. I too don't understand how this is suppose to contribute to...
For our family it is approx in the 30,000 range and counting down.

Our family did the debt transfer, but ouch those transfer fee do hurt. In the end we did save a small amount in our total balance. We are not sure yet if it was worth the fees, it's a double edge sword.
