My name is Kenny Golde. I am a filmmaker and author.

My lastest film, “Uncross the Stars,” is a comedic drama starring Barbara Hershey and Ron Perlman, available now on DVD. (htttp://www.uncrossthestarsmovie.com).

I am the author of "The Do-It-Yourself Bailout: How I Reduced My Credit Card Debt from $212,000 to $30,000 in Six Months and Saved Over $100,000." I'm a real person. When I was nearly a quarter of a million dollars in debt on credit cards and looking for help, I learned that it was possible to reach negotiated settlements but I couldn't find any information on how to do it. I found a few websites with bullet points and many companies who wanted me to think I couldn't settle my debt myself because they wanted me to pay them to do it for me. I did to it myself. I negotiated with six, major U.S. banks, settling one card with a $76,000 balance for $25,000 and another with a $39,000 balance for $15,000, among others.

I wrote "The Do-It-Yourself Bailout" so that other people in my position could learn about the process before going through it, hopefully gaining confidence and therefore reaching better settlements for themselves and their families. "The Do-It-Yourself Bailout" is available on my website, http://www.SettleYourCreditCards.com

I am an independent film maker.  In April of 2007 I went into production on a small but warm film with only a $500,000 budget. I had a single investor and it was the culmination of a decade’s work to get the film made.  As we started shooting we went over budget, and at the same time my in...
Anyone in advertising will tell you that the most effective marketing campaign is one that manages to attach an emotion to a product.  Clothes, makeup and weight-loss products are marketed to women on the basis that the they will feel sexier, prettier and more attractive, ultimately leading ...

AJ, I also recommend doing the math on how much money you can save through debt settlement vs. what the potential effects of a lower credit score might be down the line. You might be able to settle your $25K in debt for around $8-10K.  Thats a $15K savings right off the top, plus, since you're ...
There are a lot of options out there for getting out of debt, from consolidation loans to structured repayment plans to bankruptcy options. For me, debt settlement worked the best. A couple of years ago I inherited over $200,000 in debt when a business partner passed away.  I was paying nearly ...

I actually did debt settlement myself. I successfully reduced my credit card debt from $212,000 to $30,000 in about six months and had over $100,000 in debt written-off.  While this did affect my credit score it was not horrible.  It fell from the mid-700's to just over 600.  I freed ...
