Anyone planning on using their tax return to pay off bills?

When I get my tax return I plan on saving it so hopefully I can buy a new car by the summer. It will make a nice down payment.

Major purchase in cash

I don't really like to buy large items with cash. I like to use credit cards and checks. That's incase something go wrong with the item. I'll have a paper trail.
