Debt Free Wannabe

I am curious as to what debt relief options should i go for. It seems to be that this program does not offer the relief I am searching for--I mean i also have heard of this, and i am thankful i was able to read thru your inputs on the matter. But how do you suggest i take care of my debts? Any ideas...

If i go for counseling, how long will i have to pay off my debt? Ideally i want to pay it off for a shorter period of time, I don't want to be in debt for very long
