Most of the time yes. People tend to indulge in luxury even if means overspending to them. But there are also other factors why some people are in great debt. Economic factor is also one.
I only maintain 1 credit card which has the lowest annual fee. I don't think having multiple credit cards is advisable. It it very hard to keep track of your spending if you have so many cards.
