Not a real expert but I think a good quality counselor would be a person who have had experience being rich and also being bankrupt. He'll surely know how you feel when you share about your financial problems. Hehe Also make sure he isn't into debt. Hehe

I would say the opposite.  I would want someone who can provide solutions, not someone to hold my hand and make me feel better about myself.  I want someone with years of experience, references I can contact and of course practices what they preach.
