Reaffirming Commitment
I don't know why I decided today (Jan 3rd) is the day I will reaffirm my commitment to continue growing our savings vehicles but it seemed like as good a day as any. Maybe it is the brutal winter storm forecasted to hit us tomorrow or maybe it is the sun shining through my computer room window. In any event, if you are like me, it really doesn't make any difference as to the catalyst, you just say to yourself you will continue your uniterrupted savings pattern.
If you haven't already done so, you may wish to acknowledge your thrifty ways and continue to save your money so you can do what you please at that point in time you decide is the right time for you. I've already picked out the vacation spot that will receive a portion of our money in 2010.
Just my 2ยข.
I think it was January 3rd so you could claim it wasn't a New Year's resolution. ;-)
Ha, ha, yeah, I guess if I change my mind, I don't have the guilt of a New Year's Resolution hanging over my head. Truth is, even at my age, saving money feels wonderful so I will continue the habit until I'm planted in boot hill.

I have been renewing my commitments in incremental ways. That is, I slowly build on top of my previous gains with the hopes of saving little by little in greater amounts over time
Some of our New Year's resolutions seem to become "New Year's Day" resolutions sometimes.
This year I haven't made a specific change, but I did reorganize a couple things last year which helped, like switching to a no-fee bank account which saves money.
