Christmas spending
How many of you set a budget and actually kept to it? I set a budget, but didn't totally keep to it.
I used to go way, way over budget and get myself into some serious debt. Now, I do tend to go over a bit, but it truly is by just a bit, and I can still cover it with cash.
I'm going to be glad when the holidays are over. I have finished my shopping though, so that's good. I just still have some baking to do. Overall, I just went over budget by maybe $200.
As it gets closer to Christmas I set a strict budget and I am really good about not going over it. I try to have most of my christmas shopping done before the shopping season begins so that I won't be tempted to overspend later on.
My Christmas was great. I only spent $50 for all the gifts. I spent $300 in paying all my debts in the year 2007. At least I'm free now.Whew!

While this may seem overly thrifty the way in which I kept Christmas spending under control was by using the services of sites such as half.com, overstock.com, etc
I always have been promising myself to always budget and save money but whatever I do I seem to just get way over board. When I do get to stay with my budget, when I get hold of the money I saved I spend it all or most of it. Call it no control.
