Do you have a car payment or do you buy older vehicles and pay for them outright. We go the older vehicle route, which works well for us because my husband can keep them running. Auto parts are not very expensive when compared to parts/labor at a repair shop.

I usually take the new/slightly used route. I have tons of practice yet still no experience fixing cars. I usually have to take it in when I have a problem which gets quite expensive. The only thing more expensive for me than taking it in, is trying to fix it myself. I misdiagnose the problem at least 3 times before getting it right and replace parts that don't need to be replaced. I usually also discover I need 2-3 more tools to get the job done. For me the cheapest route seems to be find a car that isn't likely to need many repairs.

I have car and motorcycle. Every month i need to pay the bills and i hope i can settle by car debt. Its reallty takes many years to settle it and i'm fine with that. If some of my car need some spare or need to repair, i know many place which i can get a good part and good price. Not too expensive and not too cheap. At least, i'm satisfy with their service. :D

I take new route of car. The main reason is I don't want the thing to break down easily or have any problem specially when me myself driving it. Although my brother is a car mechanic, I don't want to take the used car which may cause a problem later on. So, the best way is to get new car, no hassle.

I used to buy and sell used acar so i pretty much get cars in bery cheap prices.. I would use the car for the mean time then when someone has the right budget i sell it. In that way i could have a service and at the same time earn cash.

Right now neither- I paid off my car loan. I usually buy from a dealership. I like the warranty. I then pay off the car early- Most times making an extra payment every other month.

I buy older and pay up front. I do not want to get into car payments and have been out of them for 6 years now.

It is usually safe to stick with older stuffs. But the people who are operating them must be skilled to operate them economically and efficiently.

The best route for us was to buy an impounded car from the local police. There was nothing at all wrong with it. Unlike regular used cars that are usually being sold because the current owner doesn't want to keep up with the expenses of a car that is always breaking down, an impound car is usually in good shape and runs well. Plus it is saving us on the insurance.
