CCCS

Does anyone have experience with the above service?  It is non-profit, and my brother's bank has recommended that he make an appointment these people.  I checked them out on the internet, and they sound like they're on the up-and-up, but I'd still feel better if I got some positive feedback from people who have tried them.

Just to be clear, are you referring to Consumer Credit Counseling Services?  The only thing that bugs me about them is I can't find a website for the national organization.  There's CCCS Atlanta, CCCS Dallas, CCCS Saint Louis, etc, but not a national one that I can find.  They all appear to be independent organizations.

Yes, it is Consumer Credit Counseling Services that I have heard of.  I don't know much at all about them but in my area (Wisconsin) the lenders sometimes have representatives come in and speak at seminars on credit improvement, plus they send people to them for debt counseling.  Perhaps one of the credit unions or banks can give my brother or I some more information so we can feel a bit more confident.

One way to learn if CCCS has any complaints is through the FTC. I think there is a place on their website to send inquiries. If any entity has a handle on this type of company, it will be the FTC.

Just a suggestion.
