What do those say about America's Debt Firm then? What do those imply? Is the BBB the lone authoritative source for how credible a settlement company is?

Whether it's America's Debt Firm or not, I think unresolved complaints are never good for a company's image. As for if BBB is the only source for a debt settlement company's credibility..the answer is 'no;. The BBB is very much trusted though, but some of their guidelines, are maybe too tough on the debt settlement industry itself. Which should lead us to the next important question: What are the consumers to look for in a legitimate settlement company anyway?

Right, and that is answered by the ff: -The settlement company's program must have a fast completion time. 12-36 months. -The program must be able to protect and improve the consumer's credit standing. -Must be a member of the Better Business Bureau, BBB, for at least 5 years. -Must also have a good standing with the Chamber of Commerce -A Member of TASC - The Association Of Settlement Companies and the IAPDA or the International Association of Professional Debt Arbitrators
