what does it mean "non profit credit card counseling services? " -- asked what do credit counseling services charge, nfcc said: It varies depending on the support for each member and state laws, but the majority of these services are provided at no or low cost to clients.

"non profit credit card counseling services? " -- Hi, credit counseling agencies will charge a one time, small set-up fee,  and then a monthly maintenance fee as well. These monthly fees on average are between $25-30 dollars. If they don't operate under the "non profit" name, they're not going to be given a license to operate.

What about that plan they're offering? Would that cost? Also, yeah it seems as if they're not non-profit afterall...even if that's a small amount they're asking...how do they stay afloat with that though?

They , aside from that small amount they collect from consumers, get a revenue from the credit card companies called "Fair Share" payments

how non profit credit card counseling services work? The process. What happens after the consumer contacts a cc agency? Typically, the main duty of these organizations is to offer advice and helpful tips on managing an individual's money and debts. Certified credit counselors who are specially equipped on budgeting, financial management, and consumer credit provide these services to empower their customers into living a debt-free existence. They also hold free seminars, workshops, and educational material on the topics at hand. More often than not, these agencies can be found in local universities, credit unions, housing authorities, military bases, and in local bureaus of the US Cooperative Extension Service. Once an individual has set a formal sit-down meeting with a credit counselor, they will go over the entirety of the customer's financial position, and create a financial plan specifically fit to the individual's needs. The initial counseling may last for an hour, and the counselor may ask for succeeding sessions to track the customer's progress. http://www.hamiltondebtrelief.com/ways-to-consolidate-credit-card-debt.html
