Debt settlement consumer protection act ... it's still a bill right? And that reminded me of the The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005

Hi pens, the debt settlement industry is largely unregulated still, and the industry has been getting a lot of bad reviews as of late - because of some debt settlement companies - not all - which might create an impression on consumers that debt settlement as a whole is bad thing. Just like in all businesses, there always exists opportunistic and sly entities, and so the debt settlement consumer protection act is being proposed.

Right, and an excerpt from that debt settlement consumer protection act article - Debt settlement services as provided through companies who operate independent from creditors and who have a history of delivering ethical, responsible and affordable results to consumers are needed more than we as a nation would perhaps care to admit. It is my hope that in the effort to reign in and curb the abuse that has, up to now gone relatively unchecked, lawmakers will implement protection measures which are leveled fairly and with equality and impartiality for all debt relief market participants. Thank you for your time in considering and weighing my comments. Please contact me if you have questions or to request further detail. Sincerely, Michael Bovee CRN – President
