Hi, if you're looking for government assistance for your debt -I'm afraid, aside from bankruptcy, there really isn't any .However, thereis professional help.

assistance for  debtors - debt relief is a very good program to assist the debtor in his/her quest to be debt free. the monthly payments are going to be significantly reduced, and the consumer, in a year or five, can be debt free - depending on which debt relief program suits him.

assistance for  debtors - debt relief - you can choose between credit counseling (Debt Management Plan) and debt settlement. The difference between the two is that, DMP deals with just your interest rates, and debt settlement with your whole balance.

assistance for  debtors - credit counseling vs. debt settlement - if you owe less than $10k and you're still current, you may want to use credit counseling to manage your debt, but if, on the other hand, you owe $10k and above and is past due, debt settlement might be  a better option.
