Can Account Be Seized And I Don't Know It?

I have an account that I rarely use, but need to do an online purchase with it. I am worried that they may have seized it without me even knowing it, just waiting for me to put some money in it. Is that possible? I would think that a) the bank would have to tell me and b) I would have gotten some notice about a judgement. thanks!

Hi there, at least you are aware of the judgment possibility, but I'm wondering whyyou are asking - is it correct to assume that you haven't checked your account status yet, or did a balance inquiry?

Another possible way for your account to be seized (not by your bank) is via a scam. Stolen identity, so do check with your bank.

Speaking of identity theft, here's an article that you must read - to protect yourself - http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/banking/financialprivacy/p33715.asp
