how to stop debt collector calls?- whether or not you owe the debt that they're charging you, there are restrictions to when/where/how the collectors contact you. Know that within 5 days of the first time you're contacted, collectors are obligated to send you a written version of that call - containing the exact amount that you owe, creditor info, and what you can do should you want that debt validated.

how to stop debt collector calls? - in some states, like Florida, for example, all the consumer needs to do is send them a ceast and desist letter, and that's not only for collection agencies, it extends to original creditors, as well.

how to stop debt collector calls?- Write the collection agency a Debt Validation Letter within Thirty days of receiving initial written correspondence or send them a Cease and Desist letter after they have validated the debt. Make sure to send all correspondence via USPS with a return signature card and keep it for your records. Visit the FDCPA page for information regarding collection laws which apply in most states in the USA and learn how the law can protect you against illegal collection tactics.

Talk to the agency. Once the collector gets the information they need, they cannot contact you again, unless there is further information needed. So, by simply taking the call and getting things taken care of the first time, you can avoid future calls that interrupt your life.
