Open accounts - but auto loans and other installment basis agreements fall under written contracts.

Right, and let me just remind you that the expiration of the SoL doesn't meanthat the creditors/collection agency would stop sending you letters or would stopcalling you .. only third party collectors are subject to the FDCPA's cease and desistprovision. Check your state rules though, as it may be a special case.
