I know of someone who had purchased a solar panel for there home. They stopped paying on it (the cost was $3000.) They harassed them for years at least 10. Since they saw that they were going not to get there money back. the collectors only wanted $500.00. They went on and payed that.

It really depends on the company you’ve have debt with. I remember my brother having debts with his credit card company. During the first year, the credit card company always bothers him to the extent of harassing him just to pay. After awhile, they already filed him case, but my brother never attended his court hearings. To date, after 4 years they eventually stopped and tire them selves of squeezing my brother to pay.

I don't know. I rarely hear about credit companies going after individual persons. It's much hassle, I think. People can declare bankruptcy too.
