You can compile your own self help debt pack - you'll need sample letters, worksheets, calculator, what else ... negotiating guidelines - a lot of reading ... question though, are younegotiating with your original creditors or a collection agency/attorney?

I found one of those self help debt kits online that sells for $19.99 + tax. It's an e-book. And I agree with the above posts. Perhaps you should just be diligent with your research -and to help you compile your own kit here's a link where you can pattern settlement letters on

Court approved credit counseling agencies
http://www.justice.gov/ust/eo/bapcpa/ccde/cc_approved.htm andguideline for Credit Counseling Agencies (according to the BBB):-Before you select a credit counseling agency ask for information on the following:-Are the agency services confidential?-Will they devise a plan tailored to fit your needs?-Are the counselors certified?-Are budget and credit education opportunities offered?-Will your funds be protected? How?-Is the agency accredited?-Aside from BBB membership (www.bbb.org) the consumer should also check its affiliation with the National Foundation for Credit Counseling http://www.nfcc.org.
