I don't know much about settling debt with Citibank as well but generally speaking if you are going to settle a debt with your creditor - expect it to be somewhere around 75% as they really don't settle current accounts. If you are enrolled in a settlement company program on the other hand - the average settlement offer will vary - but it's still going to be high (because your account is still with ur original creditor). This high percentage would be lowered if your account charges off and gets passed on to a third party collection agency.

Re: settling debt with Citibank - wasn't Citibank one of those aggressive creditorsthat sue their clients before their account charges off?

Re: settling debt with Citibank - wasn't Citibank one of those aggressive creditorsthat sue their clients before their account charges off? --- yes I've heard about that too, but you know, even if the consumer's account is with an attorney collection agency, consumers can still be saved by debt settlement companies. They call it accounts that have gone legal.
