This is totally untrue. I had $200,000 in cc debt and would not have had it paid back for years. I have already settled about $75k for a total of $14,000. How you can even state your premise, I do not know. But it is probably commercially driven and it is not helpful to anyone in this position.

Settlements are only good for a select few? If the number of people who have $10,000 (+) worth of credit card debt is "few" -- you could beright ... but that is not the case. For those people, managing their monthly payment is notgood enough anymore, because after making their monthly payments for years - they'drather get rid/eliminate the whole thing - and instead of filing bankruptcy - they optfor debt settlement.

I agree. A guy (a former negotiator) whom I've spoken with said thatall of their company's clients that were diligent enough to finish the program-said that not only did they feel a sense of accomplishment - freedom - afterbeing cleared from the responsibility of high monthly payments - but they're alsoable to save some money & were prevented from filing bankruptcy.

Settlements are only good for a select few - the few who were given a chance to settlerather than file bankruptcy. Correct?
