Hey all I sent a validation letter to the debt collector who is attempting to collect on a credit card. I gave them 30 days to respond and it's been 40 days with no response.... I've disputed the charges to the 3 credit bureau's and the charge has actually been removed from my credit report. It is more then just a few dollars so I'm sure the debt collector won't let this one just slip through the cracks. Any advise on what steps I should take next.

I think you should talk to him again. If you don't get any answer from him than you can ask help

Just keep all the papers - as evidence to the steps that you've taken to validate that debt - if they eve bug you about it again.

I think you can write them a cease and desist letter stating those that you have said on here & just wait for them to take the next step - which could be to sue you for that debt. I'm just not sure if they'd have leverage as they haven't validated that debt that they claim you owe.

I didn't know what letter to follow up with. In the validation letter I asked them to cease and desist. Communication only through mail. I havent had a call since.... So I guess I'll just wait and see what happens And I did send the letter certified   : )   Thanks guys
