I recently separated from the military. When I was on active duty I bought a townhouse 2 miles from base for $97,000. Things were fine then, the payments were easy to maintain and we had plenty of money left over at the end of the month. Now I'm out of the Navy and my wife and I are both making more money than before. The problem is that where I live now homes cost allot more. Our new house cost $260,000 which is average for where I live. I used my VA loan to buy this house with no down payment, so I owe the bank $260,000. We bring home about $70,000 a year combined. I am 31 years old, does anyone here think it's possible to pay this off before I'm 60?
