Fact or rumor? There exists a government sponsored financial assistance or a sort of a federal debt relief program available to consumers -

Government assistance or debt relief ... for personal debts like credit card bills? Nope. But there are privately run debt relief programs in abundance - you just have to carefully select the right one for your situation.Speaking of which - destroydebt.com can match you up to an eligible company for free - just fill out a form and speak with a debt consultant.

I agree you must also be able to distinguish the difference between a loan and an assistance - the government certainly has loans for consumers in need (of course it comes with tons of paperwork and long waits - and proof of your hardship) - and those require repayments with interests.

Loans are typically for private consumers. Another terminology attached to those is - grants.Grants, unlike loans that needed to be repaid, are for community projects, researches, and non-profit organizations.

We are half way through January - remember that the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act? It takes effect in February - that could be considered, in a way, a sort of an assistance from the government. Regulating some creditors unfair practices.

It has been referred to by several names, one of which is the Obama debt relief act ... and it tackles the ff:Interest rates: If the consumer's payment is 60 days late, the credit card company can increase the rate.-Penalty fees: Unless the consumer has asked for an over-limit fee, the creditors can't charge the consumer for it. Banks may not charge late fees if they were also late in crediting a payment.-College students: Credit card companies may not market to people under the age of 21, without parental permission, or verification of their ability to pay.

This seems like a web generated blog to entice customers into believing that someone is actually blogging when in fact they are not. Nice job!
