Credit card settlement percentage for AmEx? It varies I think - than when you settle with a collection agency (that your account was passed on to).

AmEx settles? Wow, all along I thought no creditor would not collect on the full amount ... as in the case of Discover. I heard that they really don't settle accounts. The consumer has to be past due (or has stopped paying) for 5-6 months before he/she can settle ... with the collection agency.

I think maybe the better question to ask is - when is the best time to settle? And the answer to that is when the account has charged off (150 days or more)
