Why credit cards?
My question is why do you think so many people have credit cards. For the longest time I got by without a credit card and got everything that I needed. Then I got one just to have it in case of emergencies. DO you think is it because people want so much?
One reason is the promotion of electronic commerce. Another reason is that credit card business is also a profitable business. It has been a cut throat competition among credit card companies that owning one has been relaxed a bit.
The widely acceptance of credit card both local and international and ofcourse the promises of credit card company to you. We get blind to all those promises.
People get credit cards for different reasons. For people with enough to spend, it's for convenience. You pay practically nothing for it if you used it often enough.
Try getting a hotel room, renting a car, buying a plane ticket, or buying anything online for that matter. Then ask yourself why credit cards...
One more reason is that more and more merchants have opened up credit cards as payment option. If credit cards companies do not provide better access to credit card application, only few consumers will patronize credit card payment.
It depends on the person and the reason why.. Some have it because they dont like to carry money..

I don't think that it's because people want so much, but because so many people have needs. Sometimes things come up that we have no control of. It is always good to have a credit card for that reason.
I have two credit cards. A mastercard that I use all the time and one I don't use at all. I got both of them several years ago. I haven't gotten any more credit cards since. And I don't carry a balance on them.
