Among some of the books on debt reduction I've read, I can say that "Solve Your Money Troubles" published by the Nolo group is very helpful and interesting. Everything was explained thoroughly in plain-sounding English instead of legalese. I highly recommend this book if you want to enrich your financial vocabulary.

Don't Suze Orman and Dave Ramsey also have books on debt reduction? I think I learn enough from what I see on TV and the internet. But that's just me.

Yes, Sarah, but for the most part, these authors' books on debt reduction offer more in-depth solutions to consumer's problems. I also personally think that keeping a personal reference on these topics can be helpful in the long run, especially if they also include feasible  plans on how to stay out of debt in the long run.

Hi, books on debt reduction and doing it yourself may save you some money, but it also might rob you off the best reduction offers. Why not try consulting with a debt expert first and find out if hiring the services of a debt relief agency would appeal to you too.Don't worry about fees - initial consultations are usually free of charge. Incidentally, destroydebt.com is offering such a free service. Just fill out a form.

How can books on debt reduction rob me of the best debt reduction offers? Don't the debt experts get these in the books in the first place?
