Student Grants for Bankrupt Families
My parents recently declared bankruptcy. I feel like this is partially my fault because I'm in college at USC and I know the fees must be piling up the debt even more. But they've also had a recent string of money problems -- my dad lost his job three months ago and it's been a year since we inherited my grandmother's timeshare, a scam we don't use and have to pay all the fees for. I feel terrible about continuing to go to a private school but I also know I need an education, and I know my parents want me to get one. Does anyone know of any assistance grants (I have Pell already) or anything geared towards this circumstance of bankruptcy that I can apply for? Should I look into transferring to a cheaper UC or Cal state or something?
Well at the moment you really do need to be realistic. If paying for your school fees is a big pain, then you might consider doing cheaper school. Anyway it is not the school but it is up to the student to be resourceful if hew wants to learn. You might do some part time jobs if your time permits you to, I used to be a college student i did pay my own tuition fee by doing small business to sustain my allowances and even save some for my business today.
i`m sorry for you
siejercito but i think now you should help your parents and transfer to a state college.i assure you that you`d do a great favour to them even if they wouldn`t accept it form the begining. You should talk to them and try to get a job yourself....even if a part time for a start
I would advice you to go for some low budget schooling, if you are an potential candidate means then no need of worrying about the private schooling and surely you should go for some state college, thats the only way for recovering this desperate situations. Many scholarship exams are been held in the cities just you can have an experience over those exams and surely it will help for your studies.
