Thanks for this example of settlement agreement for debts, Wondergirl. It's also important to note that it's very crucial for the consumer to be able to pay for the agreed amount on the agreed dates. We all know that everything is more weighty when put in writing. Being unable to pay for the allotted amounts may render serious consequences on the side of the debtor--the creditor may demand for full payment of the balance immediately if the agreement has been broken.

Thanks for the example of settlement agreement. Now my question. If I decide to send that and settle my debt myself how much will I be able to settle for?

Summer, it depends on your creditor. If your debt has charged off they are typically more forgiving. But for the most part, you need to really exercise assertion if you yourself will decide to negotiate with them yourself, as creditors can be tough to deal with. Then again, that is expected--it is their money that is owed after all, and it is a business that we're talking about.

That's why in my opinion hiring the services of a debt settlement company works best. These guys know the ins and outs of the consumer finance industry and will be well and able to negotiate the best amounts that you can settle for.
