what are the credit solutions available to consumers who want to be debt free (?)And the answer to this is, it depends on your debt amount, ability to pay, and account status:Credit counseling is good for consumers who have a steady source of income for 3-5 years (usual duration of the program, Debt Management Plan) and a total balance of less than $10,000 with high interest rates.Debt settlement is good for past due accounts amounting to over $10,000. The program usually runs from 12-36 months.

Debt free credit solutions: credit counseling & debt settlement, how much would they cost?Credit counseling is non-profit but their Debt Management Plan would cost around $25/mo. after the one time set up fee.Debt settlement companies would charge 15% of your total debt amount -spread over 18 months or they will take between 20-25% of the settlement amount.
