And the answer to this is, it depends on your debt amount, ability to pay, and account status:

Credit counseling is good for consumers who have a steady source of income for 3-5 years (usual duration of the program, Debt Management Plan) and a total balance of less than $10,000 with high interest rates.

Debt settlement is good for past due accounts amounting to over $10,000. The program usually runs from 12-36 months.

Did you mean Credit Solutions of America? If so, they might not be able to help you be debt free and you may want to read this:

Debt free credit solutions: credit counseling & debt settlement, how much would they cost?

Credit counseling is non-profit but their Debt Management Plan would cost around $25/mo. after the one time set up fee.

Debt settlement companies would charge 15% of your total debt amount -spread over 18 months or they will take between 20-25% of the settlement amount.
