i saw that someone asked for a sample letter for a creditor if they're not able to pay off a loan... i'm wondering if this also can be done thru a debt settlement? i'd want to get this taken care of soon.

Yes, you can send a sample letter to creditors to settle debt. This is more commonly done for do-it-yourself debt settlement scenarios.

The percentage that you can settle for if you send a sample letter to creditors to settle debt depends on the creditor themselves. For the most part, do-it-yourself debt settlement needs to be done with a lot of assertiveness and conviction. You have to stand your ground when negotiating with your creditor, as they may tend to be tough and insist that you pay for the full balance that you owe. Which, if you think about it, they actually are entitled to do. It is their money, after all.
