If you want to know more about the Georgia debt collection laws, you may refer to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. This law covers all states and the state of Georgia adheres to it.

As per Georgia debt collection laws: the collection agency is not allowed to have contact with the debtor after 10 PM or before 5 AM, either on the phone or in person.
The FDCPA, on the other hand, prohibits any kind of debtor contact any time before 8 AM and after 9 PM according to the customer's time zone.

According to the Rules of the Comptroller General of the state of Georgia, a "collection agency cannot attempt to lure debtor into giving information by claiming it has something of value to offer debtor."
This is an interesting tidbit from the Georgia debt collection laws. So it must be safe to assume that there had been debt collection agencies who have been doing this practice?

Another one of the Georgia debt collection laws is that the collection agency is not allowed to acquire statements where the debtor agrees to the following:
- To pay debt that has been discharged in bankruptcy without actually clearly disclosing the nature and consequences of the agreement, and the fact that the debtor has no legal obligation to pay for the debt; and
- That the debt was incurred to pay for life needs when the debt was not actually used for that reason

Is there any stipulation in the Georgia debt collection laws pertaining to stopping creditor calls?
