Oh ok thank you for putting that to my attention, I thought there was a Credit Relief Council Washington DC. How does that company that you're talking about fare in the BBB?

Neither the Credit Relief Council Washington DC nor the Debt Relief Council Washington DC have a BBB listing. How did you find out about the latter, caffeinatrix?

I wonder why you are inquiring about the credit relief division in Washington DC(?)If you are looking for a legitimate credit counseling agency, you may choose fromthe government approved list, here: http://www.justice.gov/ust/eo/bapcpa/ccde/cc_approved.htm

And here's a list of what to look for in credit counseling agency, according to the BBB:-Before you select a credit counseling agency ask for information on the following:-Are the agency services confidential?-Will they devise a plan tailored to fit your needs?-Are the counselors certified?-Are budget and credit education opportunities offered?-Will your funds be protected? How?-Is the agency accredited?-Aside from BBB membership (www.bbb.org) the consumer should also check its affiliation with the National Foundation for Credit Counseling  http://www.nfcc.org.
