Non profit debt management companies in Texas - perhaps, but I regretthat this site doesn't really allow shameless advertising. But if you'd like a listof court approved credit counseling agencies - you may look here -

And here's a guideline to help you along with hunting: --Credit Counseling Agencies (according to the BBB):-Before you select a credit counseling agency ask for information on the following://-Are the agency services confidential?/-Will they devise a plan tailored to fit your needs?/-Are the counselors certified?/-Are budget and credit education opportunities offered?/-Will your funds be protected? How?/-Is the agency accredited?/-Aside from BBB membership (www.bbb.org) the consumer should also check its affiliation with the National Foundation for Credit Counseling http://www.nfcc.org.

Non profit debt management - what does it mean? Does it mean free of charge?

Supposedly yes. But credit counseling agencies would recommendtheir Debt Management Plan to consumers - it would cost $25/mo aftera one time set up fee.

Whether you are in Texas or not, if your debt amount is high, say $10k and above (account status past due or almost), instead of looking for non profit debt management companies, why not try looking into debt settlement instead? Debt settlement can reduce your entire balance to more or less half, while debt management only deals with your interest rates.
