Free debt settlement companies do not exist; in my understanding non-profit ones do.

Free debt settlement companies are non-existent - free initial debt consultations, however, do exist. Almost all debt settlement companies offer it & speaking of which, if you'd like for your financial situation to be assessed - please feel free to fill out a form here at destroydebt.com

Question : What do debt settlement companies offer for free? If a consumerenrolls in the program - what are the benefits waiting for him/her? Why not justsettle debt d.i.y.?

The closest thing I have seen to a free debt settlement company is a non-profit organization or a <a href="http://www.pemperandgartle/">Do It Yourself </a>debt settlement program.

Your best bet is
Do It Yourself Debt Settlement program, or search for a non-profit organization n the state you live in. The best place to find n0n-profit is to visit your state AG website for this information.
