Well it is certainly possible to avoid paying credit card debt especially if the Statute of Limitations on your accounts has passed. The SOL serves as a time limit for a consumer to be responsible for a certain account or accounts. If this period has passed, you are no longer obligated to pay for the debt.

How to avoid paying for credit card debt? In essence, you really can't. After all, it is your legal obligation to do so, given that you signed a contract and agreed to be responsible for the monthly payments that are due you.You can, however, still be able to pay for your credit card debt even in hardship or financial difficulty, There are options available for you in order to get these taken care of.

is it possible for me to avoid paying for credit card debt? -- it certainly is possible, but are youready for the consequences? I feel like you are very disheartened at this point ... why notchange mind sets? Here's an option for you 1) contact your creditors and ask for theirhardship program (be honest about your financial situation w/ them & let them knowwhat you can and cannot afford at the moment) - if that fails 2) do not pay for 6 months (it soundslike you can do that one) & wait for ur account to charge off. That way it would bepassed on to a collection agency & you can begin negotiating again. Ask if they cancut your debt into more or less half ... 3) if you can't do that, hire the services of a debtsettlement company (it is more affordable than your monthly payments to ur creditors)

He might -- if the creditor is the aggressive type in terms of suing for judgment...if so,beforethe account charges off, the greatest would receive a notice saying that a legal action is goingto be taken against him ... if not, -- the account goes to a third party collection agency, & hewould get collection calls -- in which case, he still has to decide on what to do with that debt.

I agree with Niles - you can let that debt age (for 6 months maybe) until you find a job. Then go for debt settlement. How much is that you owe anyway? A settlement programrequires you to have a debt of $10,000 (or around that amount) ... with the interest andpenalties accruing while you're not paying for months..would you say that your balancewould reach that amount?

Yes it is possible for you to do that but you must face all the consequences. Be blacklisted in every bank and be nagged by the callsof the one collecting your debt. Also your relatives would be affected. But why would you avoid paying your credit card debt? You enjoyed usingit in the first place. You just reap what you sow. Just be responsible and pay your debt slowly and stay away from temptation, eventually you could pay your debt in time.

It is not impossible to avoid paying back credit card debt. In fact it is very easy if you use the right resources. You should be aware of the legal regulations involved in your case.
