Do you have savings or at least a disposable source of income that can help you through your situation? One means of debt paying is thru debt consolidation--but the best method of taking care of your debt pretty much depends on your current debt situation.

I agree with Karess. One such debt paying method is through a credit counseling program, wherein you will be sitting down and meeting regularly with a certified counselor who will go over your financial situation with you.

Is there a non-profit solution to debt paying?Yes, and that type of debt paying solution is more commonly used, primarily because most often consumers aren't required to pay for anything.

Paying debt for many American consumer has become very difficult because of the recession. Good thing an industry that can help solve the problem was born several years before it was really needed.
The debt relief industry. The more popular ones are credit counseling and debt settlement. The consumer can also opt to do a do it yourself debt reduction/debt settlement -- only, the creditors might not work with them at all.
For those consumers who don't know what to do with their debt or where to start fixing it, Destroydebt.com is offering a free initial debt consultation, just fill out a form.

Of course with regard to debt paying I'd also like to add that the only non-profit debt consolidation companies are those that offer credit counseling. If a company that says they can settle debt and claims they are non-profit, then they are a scam.

Another way to help in debt paying is sell stuff, do little jobs, babysit, whatever... just to get more money to pay debts off. That worked for me, it was hard at first, but everything pulled off nicely for me.
