How can I remove records of unpaid credit card debt on my credit report?

Hi Purple Cow. I have a lot of unpaid credit card debt due to a recent death in the family. Prior to that all the expenses were concentrated on taking care of her. Unfortunately we were only able to allocate our funds to getting her better. Now she has passed away. We are left with $24,600 in credit card debt. I have an income enough for the rent and expenses only but not for debts. What can best be done about this?

Sorry to hear about your situation Mary Mae.
Do you at least have any savings that you can use to pay for the debts that we incurred due to medical expenses? Because you can use these in the meantime, at least to get you back in financial shape, and also to prevent from incurring more unpaid credit card debt.

I think you need to cut corners Mary Mae to get rid of your unpaid credit card debt. Or at least obtain another means of income. So that you can be able to get that debt taken care of.
I would suggest consolidating that debt via debt settlement, so you won't have to pay for so much in a short period of time.

How much would I have to pay if I settled my unpaid credit card debt?

Do you mean the fee, or the total settled amount?

If you want to settle your unpaid credit card debt:
1. How much you're going to settle for depends on negotiations between the creditor and the debt settlement company that you will hire, should you choose to utilize the services of one. Each company on the market has different ranges and there is no definite standard as to how much will you need to be paying back.
2. The fee that needs to be paid to the debt settlement company is 15% of the total debt amount.
