How to avoid receiving a debt judgment? When the creditor calls or the collection agency - do not run or hide. Find out what is it that they wanted and respond accordingly and timely.

How to avoid receiving a debt judgment?I agree with pocketfulofsunshine, remember that you are avoiding judgment and not the creditors. What they usually want is to inform you that you owe this amount, to this creditor, and they would also want you to know what you can do to have your debt verified. In a letter. That is after they contact you via the phone for the first time.

How to avoid receiving a debt judgment? After verifying your debt and if ever you can't afford to pay your balance - don't despair. Depending on the amount of debt, you can either manage that debt or settle it.Credit counseling - for debts below $10,000, the interest rates are going to be negotiated for you to get to the principle amount much quickerDebt settlement - for debts about $10,000, the balance is going to be negotiated down to more or less $5,000

Don't panic though if you receive a notice saying that you're going to be sued for your debt. A judgment goes through a process. You'd be given time to negotiate a way out of it.If you need counseling, fill out a form here at destroydebt.com and avail of the free initial consultation. It helps to know what to do, where to go.
