How to get a credit card after bankruptcy:Check for errors in your credit report. Look for accounts that are open and overdue -- and contact the credit bureaus so that it could be corrected. Remember that your credit score is based on information in your credit report, so you can't afford errors as they would damage your score.

Just to add to what Stephanie said about secured cards, the consumers need two types of credit to quickly rebuild your credit score-- they are Installment: auto loans, student loans or mortgagesand The revolving: credit cards or home equity lines of credit

If ever youre given a credit card after bankruptcy, expect its interest rate to be really steep.

That's right. Getting a credit card after bankruptcy will ensure that fact. Once your creditors see that you have had previous financial difficulties, a higher interest rate will indeed be attached on the next credit card you obtain. It is necessary for you to shop for lenders in the process of rebuilding your credit after a bankruptcy.
