The
Gamcare web site states that "Crippling debt is one of the most common outcomes of a gambling problem."What are your thoughts on debt and gambling? Which really comes first for some consumers, the gambling problem or the debt problem? How may they be relieved?

Thoughts on debt and gambling? I think that if the gambling problem came first, then it should be treated first. The debt problem can wait. Plus if the gambling continues, the debt would just increase too..so, I think the gambling addict must first receive counseling.

On debt and gambling: Evidently gambling is a form of addiction--it is sort of an escape to fulfill some sort of need. The person will find ways and means in order to feed their addiction. As one gets the "high" of winning their bets, they may crave and make ways to get more than what they need. This may lead to debt, because they keep on borrowing and borrowing to satisfy the addiction that they have.
