If you can avoid a credit card. Learning self-control to not consumptive and buy something that is really needed it. Learning to save a lot better if you want something. Not have a credit card means much more quiet life and peaceful even though we do not have anything

Those are some good points that you make. However, if you avoid a credit card at all costs it is going to be very difficult to ever build a good credit score. And a good credit score is necessary if you want to get things like a low interest home or car loan. It is really all about managing your credit wisely. If you don't have the money to pay off what you use on credit- do not use your credit for that purchase!

Avoid a credit card -- a credit card or two is alright. Also I agree with Steven - a credit card is essential for the credit -- not unless you're never ever going to need to take out a loan, rent, or find a job..

Avoid a credit card debt trap -- now that makes more sense! What's a credit card debt trap? It could be that you've been stuck with the same debt for years and years and are barelymaking any headway with your principle (because of the amount that you owe and its interest rate + penalties)

But if you weren't able to avoid that credit card debt trap - and you're looking for debt relief - you have a couple of options available: 1) Debt Management Plan - run by credit counseling agencies. It deals with high interest rates and it would ask you for a $25/mo. fee each month. The plan lasts for 3-5 years. 2) Debt settlement - it deals not with just the interest rates but the actual balance itself. The program lasts for 1-3 years and it asks for 15% of your total debt amount (spread out over 18 mos) *There are other fee structure, ask for them.
