Hi, what is the function or the use of the Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Records? Who usually obtains those?

I think Pennsylvania bankruptcy attorneys or a consumer who wants to file bankruptcy by himself -- They access the Pennsylvania bankruptcy records mainly for research or for referencePerhaps they are looking for cases to pattern their own cases after.

I agree, in addition, the Pennsylvania bankruptcy records can be accessed by lenders/creditors/their attorneys too for the same reason as what x and y has mentioned. It has something to do with the Pennsylvania state exemptions on properties, validity of liens, etc..

Homestead - $20, 200 (the unused portion amounting to $10,125 may be used to any property)
Life insurance policy - $9, 850 ($475/item)
Jewelry - $1,225
Motor vehicle - $3,225
Persona injury compensation - $18, 450
Tools - $1,850Although these information are available on public records, it is much better for the consumer to consult with a Pennsylvania bankruptcy lawyer.
