I don't think there exists credit card advocates apart from the credit card companies themselves?

Maybe passer by meant consumer group advocates. The ones that write articles about the debt relief industry, I'm just not sure if there exists a consumer group that advocates FOR credit card debts...

Perhaps passer by is pertaining to consumer groups that advocated for the credit card reform bill that President Obama has recently legislated--The law is called
Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009. Some of its highlights are for credit card companies to give the consumers 45 days before they can up the interest rates and that the consumer's payment must first be applied to the highest interest rate balance.

I agree with itsnatasha and to add to what she's said that law tackles
Interest rates - (
If the consumer's payment is 60 days late, the credit card company can increase the rate.)
Penalty fees - (
Unless the consumer has asked for an over-limit fee, the creditors can't charge the consumer for it. Banks may not charge late fees if they were also late in crediting a payment.)
College students - (
Credit card companies may not market to people under the age of 21, without parental permission, or verification of their ability to pay.)

But until the new law goes into effect, the banks are going to screw with you. They have with me.

There would always be credit card debt advocates.

"There would always be credit card debt advocates."But they won't always get their way. The C.I.A. would find them if they're too loud and aggressive...

So there is no such thing as credit card debt advocates (officially) but essentially it pertains to Consumer Rights advocates or the consumer watchdogs.

What is the importance of having credit card debt advocates? Or is their existence necessary? How fair are they?
