Has anyone had any good news with this company. Do they have offices or branches in Arizona?

As far as I know the company only has offices in Florida and Tennessee.Square One Debt Settlement in FL has a B+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. According to Bureau standards, this company "would not have a significant number of complaints or other considerations that could pose a problem to consumers." It's interesting to note, though, that the company has had fifteen complaints in the last three years. A majority of these complaints focused on issues related to customer-requested refunds.

The FL office also has a membership with the TASC, or the Association of Settlement Companies.

Is it true Square One may have branches under different names in different states?

From what I know about Square One Debt Settlement, that is their only location (FL) and name that they operate under. But they do have an affiliate program, and their affiliates can sell under Sqaure One Debt Setrtlement or under their own name. This may be what led you to believe they have many different names and places of operation.

I know that you must have a license to perate in some states- but if Sqaure One Debt Settlement actually services the clients I don't think the affiliates would be required to do so.

Interesting. I just didn't realize that these type companies can just affiliate to a branch under a different name in another State and not be licensed somewhere, whether Fla or affiliate state. It seems that even though they claim to be only a affiliate of Square One there would have to be some State regulations to oversee this companies. I checked on my State's website and you have to be licensed to be a Debt Management Co/or Collections Agency to do business in the State. So, even if I don't go with Square One is this true of most debt companies?

Debt management refers to credit counseling agencies. Square One Debt Settlement is not a credit counseling agency so I wouldn't think that applies to them. Ultimately the industry is highly unregulated (because of how young it is) so I would doubt that any legislation is in place that pertains to affiliates of such companies.

I thought that Debt Settlement, Debt Counseling and even Credit Settlement/Counseling all primarily do the same type of business in helping the Consumer get out of debt. Your answer intrigued me so I looked up a few states, like Colorado and it looks like they require businesses to be licensed along with branches and affiliates. The consumer needs to go to their STATE website for license requirements.
