I've done a search on them. apparently most of their clients have been sued by their original creditors. The common denominator on their complaints is this: the consumers had been making payments to these guys thinking that the monthly payments were going to the creditors. Apparently the lenders were not receiving any payments from these guys and pursued legal action. I find that a little scary and disheartening tbh. Maybe you should look elsewhere.

On the positive side of things ADC is part of the TASC, which is a good thing. If some readers are not aware of who TASC is, this is an umbrella organization composed of different debt settlement companies. Fittingly they're called The Association of Settlement Companies. They lobby the agencies' rights and promote the best interests of their clients. You can know more about them at http://www.tascsite.org.

According to their official website American Debt Control says they've saved their clients an amount of $7M and that their clients saved 69% of the total amount that they owed. These figures were as of last year.Unfortunately this company isn't accredited by the Better Business Bureau. In fact they got an F rating from the company. Apparently a lot of customers aren't happy with their services and their complaints vary greatly. Seven BBB complainants were actually forced to file for bankruptcy as a result of ADC's negligence to their needs.

American Debt Control has received complaints mainly pertaining to service and contract issues. Most of their clients have been misinformed about the program that they were enrolled in. Consumers allege that the debts are never settled, and that the creditors are never contacted--I can surmise that The Animal's received feedback on these guys was to that nature.

One thing that you can do is this: fill out a form on DestroyDebt.com and you can be matched up with a qualified provider that can help you on your specific situation.

There are a lot of other better debt settlement companies out there. With cleaner records and with proper accreditation and membership. One way for the consumer to avoid wasting time and money is...if they encounter companies such as America Debt Control..(a lot of complaints, not a member of the BBB) they should move on to the next candidate.

Veering away from America Debt Control and speaking of proper accreditation and membership, the consumer can check if the settlement company is in or with the following:TASC www.tascsite.orgUSOBA www.usoba.orgIAPDA www.iapda.org
