Well, you can actually find a list of their member companies on their website at http://www.tascsite.org. The directory is classified alphabetically by company name, so you won't have a hard time looking for a specific company in mind.

TASC stands for the Association of Debt Settlement Companies. They are an umbrella organization composed of debt negotiation firms. They serve to lobby the companies' rights. They also function to promote fair and quality-driven practices among debt settlement firms.

One thing I like abt TASC is that they're making things right and easier for everybody. Like just recently, they're working on a bill to be passed called the Debt Management Services Act, and their areas on concentration are CA and NY. The news report I dug up says there are also bills currently in progress in Nevada, Tennessee, and Texas.Learn more about it here: http://www.creditcardflyers.com/credit-card-news/2009/regulation-needed-for-debt-settlement-companies-say-tasc-424.php

And you may want to supplement your search for TASC debt settlement companies by checking their Better Business Bureau profile as well. There you can see how many complaints have been filed against the company in the last 36 months.

So are TASC debt settlement companies regulated by TASC too?

From what I know the purpose of TASC is not to regulate debt settlement companies. Their function is not similar to the FTC for example. Rather, lobby on behalf of and set industry standards for debt settlement companies and all TASC members.

So if a compay is under TASC it doesn't necessarily mean that the BBB has a high rating of them. I see, it makes better sense to me now.
