When should you pay your credit card bill..I should say that you should pay your credit card bill when it arrives in your mailbox and before the due date.

Now is the best time to try to settle your credit card bill since it sounds like your accounts are already past due. Creditors only negotiate on the principal amount of debt if you are already behind on your payments-and since it sounds like your account is already with collections, it's time to make a move.Call your creditors as soon as possible and let them know of your plans.

Since we do not know which group is contacting you:1. If it is a debt collector and/or a junk debt buyer that's calling you, expect to get a low settlement because they bought your debt at a very low price. 2. If it is the original creditor that's calling you, then that it is a good news! It means that they would offer you a settlement amount, high at first, so wait for their 3rd offer.

How far past due is your account? The closer the date is to being written off by the creditor to the IRS, which is usually 180 days past due, the better. Remember that they prefer for your account to not charge off. Be careful when paying your credit card bill- if you are already past due, and you only send the lender a little bit of money it may not even cover the interest. So essentially you aren't paying off any of the debt, and they will still report you as past due if what you are sending them is not equivalent to the minimum amount due for that billing cycle.

"when should I pay my credit card bill?"When I receive collection calls and the collection agency has validated my debt. When I am absolutely sure that the statute of limitations on that debt hasn't yet expired.

I agree, "when should I pay my credit card bill?" should not be answered with:-When a collection agency harasses me or threatens to put me to jail if I don't pay up in 10 days (or any made up days).-When a collection agency contacts my neighbors, relatives, and work place.-When a collection agency tells me that they are going to sue me -When a collection agency calls to inform me of my debt and have not sent me a letter informing me of the amount of my debt, my creditors, and what I can do to have the debt validated. Those are violations of the FDCP rules. Whatever you do, if the debt is not validated, do not promise to pay it, nor admit to it.
