Credit Counseling And American Express

does anyone know about credit counseling and american express and whether or not this would be helpful considering I owe them the most?

I heard through the grapevine that AmEx is no longer working with credit counseling agencies. Can anyone confirm this?

I am not concerned with credit counseling American Express issues. But I do want to know if American Express will settle my debt?

From what I understand American Express can be negotiated with, although lately they have, in the press, suggested otherwise. This could be a tactic to scare people away from settling (or trying to settle) which eventually costs them money since they aren't collecting the full balance.
Also, In terms of credit counseling American Express issues- I am under the impression from many sources that they do not work with credit counseling agencies.

what are the payment programs or arrangements that they would agree to?

Well, in terms of credit counseling and American Express, they wouldn't agree to anything because they don't work with those agencies. In terms of debt settlement and American Express, it depends if they are handling the account in-house or if it has been turned over to a collection agency.
